Load Design Operating Mode

The Load Design Operating Mode controls your preferences for the program appearance. It controls the fields that are displayed on each screen. There are two operating modes:

1. The Load Design license has only the Load-Design Operating Mode available and none of the fields related to energy usage and Economics are available  This just provides you with System Peak sizing day needs for both Heating and Cooling.  This does not provide the user with the option to create Visualizer data for all 8,760 hours in a year.
1. Load Design Simulation requires a system to be selected prior to calculation.  A load design cannot be performed without a system assigned to all spaces that require calculations.
2. Unconditioned spaces are managed by assigning them to a special Zone category called “Unconditioned Spaces.”  No data on load size or space temperature will be calculated for these spaces.
3. The Economics Section of the program is grayed out and cannot be accessed in this mode.
4. Simulation Settings – The two tabs, General Settings and Load Design Parameter are available.

2. The Energy and Economic license has two operating modes. You can select the Load Design option as discussed above.  (???). Energy and Economics mode will display all the fields in the program to calculate Load, Design, and additional fields to conduct Energy and Economics analysis.  This also provide the user with the option to create Visualizer data for all 8,760 hours in a year.
1. The Economics Section of the program is available and Utility Rates can be entered.   Submeters, and Demand Reduction options can be scheduled along with Life Cycle Parameters and Costs.
2. Simulation Settings – A third tab is available covering Energy Simulation Parameters including Environmental Emissions Factors, and the ability to select CBECS Benchmarking category and year are available in this mode.
